PART I : TIPS AND TRICK TRIP TO JAPAN (English Guide)

by - 21:53

Hello Guys!

Sorry, I never updated this blog. There was nothing special to write actually XD Today, I want to share about my Japan Travel last October 2016. I went to Japan with my friends (4 girls including me). We didn’t use tour and travel agent. We managed all the things by ourselves eventhough each of us had never been there before . Many friends of mine asked me—

How dare you go to country that you don’t even know before?” hmm
“Do you understand Japanese?” NO
“Do you have relatives who lived in Japan?” NO
So, How did you manage everything and come back safely?”  Okay, I will share everything here

First, I went to Japan in the mid October for about 2 weeks. I had prepared EVERYTHING before I went there. “EVERYTHING” that you should prepare for  solo travelling to Japan are..
1    1. Deciding when, where, and how long
This is really important for the traveller who wants to go to Japan.
When : Japan has four seasons, so which months you will going to spend. For me, it was autumn because the weather is not too hot or too cold. Winter is good as well but your luggage will be really heavy since you have to bring some thick coats. (The point is: when you do solo travel, you have to bring the luggage by yourself)
How long : Decide How long you are going to stay in Japan. For me, 2 weeks is more than enough. I could visit 5 cities (tokyo, osaka, kobe, kyoto, hakone) in just 2 weeks.
Where : Decide which cities you are going to stay. You can explore everything about Japan in Youtube. There are so many YOUTUBERS who made travel diaries about Japan.

2       2. Buy a Flight Ticket ( Round-Trip)
My friends and I looked for the ticket 4 months before going there. Luckily, we got a really reasonable price for Cathay Pasific from SUB (Indonesia) – HND (Japan). I booked online via Traveloka.

3    3. Make an Itinerary or Schedule
Make a schedule for your travelling. It contains the CITY-the PLACE you want to visit- the FOOD and BEVERAGE you want to try, the CUTE THINGS you want to buy.
I will give you the example. Later I will upload my itinerary here! So stay tune xD

4       4. Booking Hotels, Wifi Router, JR PASS
After deciding which places you want to go, book some hotels. I booked the hotels via traveloka and Agoda.
Tips: Book a hotel which is near the station or subway. So that, you need not to walk too far. If you want to know which hotel is good or bad, you can read the review in Tripadvisor (as fas as I know, the review is trusted)
Booking wifi router is a must. When you do solo travel, you need to check the train schedule in hyperdia.com. I suggest you to rent the wifi router in your country so when you arrive at the airport, you can use that
JR Pass is very cost effective rail pass for long distance train travel in Japan. If you just go around tokyo or the route is tokyo-kyoto-osaka, you need not to buy that. If you go round trip like tokyo-osaka-kyoto-tokyo, it is worthed to buy JR Pass.
PS: JR Pass can be bought only outside JAPAN. It is provided for the tourist only (I will explain more about JR PASS in the next part)

5       5. VISA
I made a japan visa in HIS Travel Agent in Indonesia. I just need to collect some photos, identity card, and passport. I spent IDR 445.000 or $ 34 and they managed the rest and we just signed some papers. Not more than a week, I got the visa.

6        6. ETC
When you go travelling to Japan, do not forget to bring Universal Travel Adapter. For me, Japan and Indonesia has different adapter. So check first whether you have “that” adapter or not.

That’s all about what you have to prepare before going to Japan! If you have any question, you can just email me ^^ I will surely reply your message.
See you in PART 2!
